Marc Franco is a senior real estate asset management executive with over 25 years of commercial real estate experience specializing in complex office and mixed‑use investment strategies across the U.S. and Canada. Throughout his career, he has directed the operational and financial performance of more than 11 million square feet of institutional assets, representing billions of dollars in collective real estate value. This elite track record spans a diverse range of investment platforms—including a publicly traded REIT, a private equity firm, and a foreign direct investor—and includes over a decade serving as Head of Real Estate Asset Management - Americas at Credit Suisse. This extensive breadth of experience gives him a unique understanding of how different ownership structures evaluate risk, underwrite performance, and execute strategic decisions.
Marc’s expertise is deeply rooted in driving performance within transitional and challenged office environments. Having successfully managed assets through the dot-com crash, the Global Financial Crisis (GFC), and the unprecedented operational disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, he utilizes aggressive leasing, strategic repositioning, and disciplined execution to preserve and create value in markets defined by severe dislocation, while aligning diverse stakeholders behind a unified business plan.
Through Makarry Ownership Advisors, Marc leverages this institutional pedigree to provide dedicated, ownership‑side leadership. Serving as the vital bridge between investors and third‑party property management and leasing teams, he delivers clear business planning, rigorous financial and operational oversight, and complex capital program management. Makarry gives ownership groups the immediate capacity of a seasoned, institutional asset manager without the burden of permanent senior executive overhead.
Marc holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University, where he was selected as a Frank G. Zarb Fellow, he also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
